New torture device testing and diet ice cream
Saturday 6/16 Lower.
2 laps with 1 plate sled drag. Seemed particularly hard for some reason.
Squats on Red Squat machine: 1 plate X 2 sets of 8, 2 plates X 3 sets of 8
Lying leg raise with 1 chain around ankles: 3 sets of 12
Sled with 1.5 Plates for 1 lap. This one felt better than the first round of sled once I was warmed up I guess.
Post workout I weighed around 283. Normally Saturday post workout is my lowest weight during the week so I use that as my measuring stick to see how bad I ate over the weekend. I am estimating I can hit 280 by the end of this week if I eat right this week. If I eat the way I have been, it will take two weeks. For all the bad shit I ate this weekend I weighed 287 today, so I was pleasantly surprised as I figured I’d be close to 295. It was one of those weekends where you say F it on Saturday evening and eat whatever for dinner…..And then Desert. And then you have left overs the next day so may as well eat those too because you can’t waste money (or what ever excuse you need to justify eating bad). We hit a new desert place (Bear Bakery in five points) after dinner. You can make ice cream sandwiches with fresh baked cookies, brownies and doughnuts. Needless to say it was amazing. I had a cookie bowl fresh out of the oven with ice cream on it. I am not a huge ice cream fan, but it was good!
The good news is that most of this week the temps are in the 96-100* range every day so there will be plenty of suffering while doing sled to atone for my caloric sins over the weekend.
Monday 6/18 Upper
I made a new torture device and tested it out. Let’s just say it is an ass whooper. It should be ready for release in a few weeks, but just as a teaser let me say that you will love to hate it like the prowler. I Knew it would suck, but I had one of those humbling laps where you think “how in the hell am I gonna get this thing back”. I ended up having to take most of the weight off 2/3 way around to finish. More to come on this soon!
Chest press: 1 plate X 3 sets of 15
Single arm triceps push down with the new dynamite stick handle: 4 sets of 12 each arm.
Double cable curl using same dynamite stick handle: 3 sets of 12
Seated Row with the little bro handle (a mini version of our utility strap): 4 sets of 10
Seated face pull with the long fuse dynamite stick handles: 3 sets of 10. These handles can be used for a ton of different movements to put a new twist on exercises just by changing the hand positioning.
Sled with 25 lb plate for 3 laps. Today was a hundred-degree day here in Columbia, but we had a huge rain storm that cooled it down a bit right before I went out to sled, but that also meant it was like sledding in a steam room and it made the sweat pour for sure.
Reverse hyper with 2 hundreds: 3 sets of 12
Close Grip Pulldowns: 3 sets of 10
Bent over rows: 3 sets of 12 with 1 plate.
Not really what I would call a killer workout, but it got the blood moving.
