Ever find yourself getting the mount against an opponent only to be tossed through the air like a ragdoll when they “see red” and bridge?
•
Here’s an exercise you can use to make sure once you get the mount, you KEEP it: Nordic Iso Holds ✅
•
You’ve probably seen the full Nordic curl variation of this somewhere on the internet—problem is very few people possess the strength required to do these correctly, and many introduce them into their programs way too soon, leading to some pretty serious soreness for days on end.
•
The iso hold variation will more appropriately prepare your muscles and tendons for future iterations of the Nordic curl without smoking your hamstrings 🔥
•
Even if you’ve been doing Nordic curls for years, these can pose a serious challenge as you’re able to handle deeper angles.
•
How, you ask?
•
Find something to keep your lower legs in place—Could be a barbell loaded up super heavy, a partner to hold your ankles, or in this case one of these @spudincstraps nordic straps.
•
1️⃣ Get as tall as you can from your knees to your shoulders.
2️⃣ Squeeze your butt and brace your core as if someone were going to punch you.
3️⃣ Maintaining the position of your hips, lean forward until you feel tension on the back of your thighs.
4️⃣ Hold this position for three to five seconds, then pull your heels toward your butt to return to the start position.
•
We typically program these for 2-3 sets of 5 reps at varying lengths of time ⌚️
•
Common errors we see here?
•
❌ Losing tension in the hips
❌ Arching the back
❌ Going too far too soon
•

💪🔥👏 Did you know a kettlestrap can double as a cable handle as well?! • @hampgoesham Having an absolute blast with the @spudincstraps utility strap and kettlebell strap! They’ve been huge as the home gym setup is only so much, and I’m always looking to add new accessories in - and with these I can add a few dozen to the mix at least. Current status: hurts move 😅👌🏼
