Saturday, October 28th:
I was lazy all week (or at least it felt like it) so I decided to step out on a limb and see if I could run 2 miles. Well, run/walk. I hadn't run since I did a 5K last December. But I was interested to see how it would feel since I have been doing so much prowler and other loaded cardio. I was happy with the results. The time wasn't great...maybe 21 minutes for 2 miles but my ability to run without dying was better than I thought. I started doing 1 minute at 6.0 (run) and 1 minute at 4.0 (walk) but quickly I ramped that up to where I was doing 5 minutes straight (6.5, 6.4, 6.3, 6.2, 6.1) with 1 minute walking. I will keep running once a week to see how I improve.
Monday, October 30th:
Deadlifts: I worked up to 235 lbs. for 5 sets of 5
1 lap of prowler with no weight
Tuesday, October 31st:
1 lap of prowler with 25 lbs. each arm
1 lap with the keg
1 lap of overhead walks with (2) 12 Kg kettlebells
Wednesday, November 1st:
* Incline Dumbbell presses - worked up to 10 sets of 10 with 35 lbs.
* Pec-Flye machine with 30 lbs. for 5 sets of 10
* Light Rear-delt flyes
* 2 laps with the prowler with no weight - getting back into the prowler this week after being off while it was getting fixed, and my calves are cramping pretty bad while I push. I guess it will take a bit to work back up to where I was.
I haven't dressed up for Halloween in a long time, basically since I started working at the gym. For not other reason then we just haven't gone anywhere fun on Halloween because I am usually working, or out with the family watching my nephew scam candy off of people. But this year I had a super fun party to go to in Atlanta so I tried to pull out all the stops. There were so many choices of characters I could be....Dana Scully from The X-Files and Leelu from The Fifth Element were the top contenders until I was hit with inspiration. I decided to try and re-create the beautiful picture of Beyonce when she introduced the world to the twins.
It took 2 weeks to put together (buy all the stuff, making the outfit, getting the wig fixed and dying the veil). I even had my make-up guru escort me to Ulta and help me buy all the make-up necessary to get the Beyonce glow. I had to LEARN how to put on a full face of make-up with the intent of making it look like I had no make-up on at all and I just popped out of bed looking as beautiful as Queen Bey.
The party was a wedding celebration for my cousin Matt. A good bit of my family was there, maybe 15 in all. When I came out of the hotel room in all of my Beyonce glory...only 1 person knew who I was. That was a little dis-heartening. Afterall, the picture is iconic. At the party, a few more people knew who I was so that made it all worth it. We had a great time at the party and I enjoyed being the Queen for an evening.
Oh yeah, while I was in Atlanta partying away, Marc was at home stressing over the new building, employees and other business related concerns. I was having fun. He was not. But I am home now and we are geared towards this new building.
